Q. What materials can't I put in my skip? A. The following items are considered hazardous waste and cannot be placed in a skip.
Q. What access do I need to have a skip delivered? A. The lorries delivering your skip are LGV’s and are very large. Please ensure there is sufficient access to allow it to deliver and drop safely. If you are unsure , please contact us on 01206 307107 and we will provide you with approximate dimensions.
Q. How Much Can I put In A Skip? A. Ensure that the skip is LEVEL LOADED (contents not higher then skip sides) to allow it to be safely transported away from your property. A driver has the right to refuse to transport a load he deems unsafe or overloaded.
Q. Do I need a permit for my skip? A. A permit is required if you plan to place your skip on a public highway. Lighting and correct signage will also be necessary if you have booked your skip for a period of time (up to 28 days).
Q. Who applies for a permit for my skip? A. A permit will often be requested by the skip operative on your behalf, please check when you order your skip.
Q. How long does it take to obtain a permit for my skip? A. In some cases a period of between 3-5 days is needed to obtain a permit from the local authority, so please bear this in mind when calling to order your skip and allow enough time before your skip is required if a permit is needed.
Q. How much weight can a skip hold? A. Skips can carry a maximum weight of about 8 tonnes
Q. Can I get a skip delivered on a Sunday? A. It is possible to arrange a skip and have it delivered on a Sunday. This however will severely limit the choice of suppliers. When ordering, it will therefore be wiser to have your skip delivered on the Friday or Saturday if needed for the Sunday. |
